Guy Bigwood is Group Sustainability Director of MCI, the world’s leading provider of strategic engagement and activation solutions. An inspirational futurist and strategist, Guy leads MCI Sustainability Services, a global consulting practice focused on helping corporations, cities and associations create more sustainable events, operations and brands. In 2007 Guy founded MCI’s sustainability programme when MCI became the first event, association and Congress Management Company to sign the UN Global Compact. He has since emerged as a thought leader and expert on environmental, ethical and social issues, and has developed one of the most comprehensive sustainability programmes in the events industry that has been recognised with over 19 sustainability awards. Guy has developed MCI’s to be the organiser and consultant of over 700 events about sustainable development and energy. He is a regular speaker and facilitator, and has trained over 25,000 people. Previously he was the President of the Green Meeting Industry Council and has advised MPI, ICCA, SITE, UFI and other industry associations on their sustainability strategies.
